McDonald’s support helps benefit Chapters around the world:
The generosity of time, as well as funds and in-kind services provided by the entire McDonald’s community, have helped RMHC positively impact millions of children and their families since 1974. Their support and community relations have also helped us expand our core programs and services throughout the world.
More than $126 million was donated worldwide through McDonald’s, franchisees and customers in 2019.That could provide almost 1.6 million overnight stays for RMHC families. |
In Nebraska and southwest Iowa, each store has a donation box connected both inside and outside the restaurant designed to collect spare change from customers. Those coins directly benefit the families staying in our House.
The small business owners and restaurants supporting our House do so by sponsoring specific projects or events – including being the Title Sponsor at our golf tournament – volunteer and in-kind support as well as many other ways. Throughout the year, McDonald’s restaurants in Nebraska host fundraisers inside and outside the restaurants. Local McDonald’s restaurants also coordinate a Giving Tree campaign to collect household items for the House. This makes it easy for the community to get involved and support our families.
Beyond these projects, our McDonald’s co-op also supported our Hope and Healing Expansion by donating one-and-one-half cents per pound of French fries sold at their restaurants. All of those donations added up to a $1 million contribution to our House! We are so thankful for the relationship we have with the owner operators of our local McDonald’s.
